Travel Adventures – Visiting the Museum of Goa and grabbing some yummy lunch at Edwards Yard.

The Museum of Goa, has been a must-visit place in my travel list. I had been planning this trip for quite some time now.

A little more details about MOG: The Museum of Goa is centrally located in Pilerne Industrial Estate, Bardez, Goa. It offers different multidisciplinary art forms that include painting, sculpture, photography, design, moving image, music, theater, poetry, installation and much more. The Founder of this museum is Dr. Subodh Kerkar .

The artistic abode.

The journey to MOG begins…

At first, I wasn’t sure about making it to MOG but having high hopes I knew I’d figure a way out. It took some efforts, where I asked my mom to accompany me and we headed straight to MOG. Tif you are traveling from the South of Goa, then the journey to get up to this museum in North is long. We reached there at about 11 am and there are sign boards all over the place, so you can find it without much difficulty. This place was exactly how I imagined to be, all the artifacts are a creation of Dr.Subodh Kerkar which are beautiful and just amazing to watch. This place has an in-house cafe to where some yummy delicacies are served, but I was so engrossed in the artifacts that I totally forgot we were even hungry!

An overview of the museum

This place is divided into four sections, the ground floor leads to the main hallway where there are a few artifacts placed. From there you can either go to the outside garden or head to the second floor.

There is also an in-house auditorium where there are talks being presented by Dr.Subodh, which were recorded though!!

All sections here have a different themes and are spread across each floor of the building. And guess what? there are specific photobooth sessions for you to click photos, cool aint it ?

Besides the mirchies.

If you are not an artist or someone who is not into arts, this place is sure to get you into some artistic mood. So waste no time and get going, it’s a for sure must-visit travel place.

Apart from this, they also have this gift shop which is right at the entrance where you get a series of gift choices from postcards, accessories to some miniature artifacts . They also have a lot of other events like workshops, talks, photography walks and so much more which happen simultaneously to the main events happening at the museum.

Edwards Yard
On the way back home, we realized we were hungry and it was almost 1 pm. Every time we travel to Panjim, we used to see the Edwards Yard board on the side, and I wanted to go here at least once. So this time for real, we did end up going, the way to Edwards Yard was a bit confusing (or maybe we were just hungry, I really don’t know) . So, finally, somehow we managed to get there. The entrance of the place gave me an exotic feel of some restaurant in Bali.

Spotted this lovely looking Hibiscus.

Each corner of this place has a lot of things which are related to nature. Like there is a waterfall in one corner,  you will ducks roaming somewhere around, some gorgeous looking flowers and the overall feels and vibes of the place are calm and amazing. For food the service yummy and quick as well. We ordered creamy prawns and hakka noodles and Mojito (My go to choice of beverage).

The Entrance to Edwards Yard.

The food was nice, I would rate it may be 3.8/5.

A must visit atleast once if your are somewhere around the north or travelling to the south.

I came home happy, not only did all the art works at MOG fill my creative brains, but the food made my tummy happy and me super happy!!

See you until a next adventure!
