You know those trips that just happen without prior planning? This was one of them. I had this place on my bucket list (of the thousand places I wanted to visit). I have seen so many pictures and videos of this place.
I still couldn’t believe I was actually going to make it there – Today!
Who was I travelling with? She was my classmate from college who I hardly spoke to back then as we were from different streams.
We were meeting after 2-3 straight years, but you know what? This time meeting a new person did not give me as much anxiety as it usually gives.
Oh, wait! I forgot, I haven’t mentioned the place we were going to. Hehehehe…
We were headed to the North of goa, somewhere around Anjuna, is this amazing cafe called “Artjuna Cafe, in Anjuna” (well, you can look it up on the internet, one of the buzzing places up North). It is one of the famous breakfast restaurants in North Goa.
Headed for breakfast, it was a long ride from the South. We started our journey at somewhere around 6:30 am and reached Panjim around 7:45 am.
It was an awesome fun ride as we both took turns whilst riding. Actually, being around easy going people makes it so much fun as they can pull of everything so well.
Oh wait ! I forgot to introduce this classmate who now is one of the most awesome friends I have. Her name is Magly Gracias, a little about her, she loves the sea and her goals are to culture crabs someday (such an exciting and wonderful person she is!)
How did we get along?
Our long ride chat started with some random idea of not destroying nature and then she explained to me Game of Thrones, which i am still not convinced of watching. Well, travelling with her didn’t make me uncomfortable at all but it turned out to be a cool trip for us both.
An overview of Artjuna
We got to ArtJuna dot at 8:30 am and that place was so gorgeous at first sight.
It gave that old goan heritage vibe. Also, it has this art gallery cum shop where you can buy the antiqes available there. There is a Ganesha statue right when we enter and then the pathway leads to the main sitting area. Honestly, there was nothing fancy in the ambience of the place but the whole area is pretty chill and it actually gave me vibes of a beach shack.
We spent about 30 min deciding what exactly we wanted to eat for breakfast while magly explained how to cook a perfect poached egg 😅
Wait ! It didn’t just end there,
We ordered a mild breakfast which was so much then our appetite.
It included the Jammuna smoothie & @artjunagoa special sandwich for magly and the Avacado shake and sandwich for me!
The breakfast screamed health all the way! We explored around the place, it has a yoga centre and also an in-house open library , where you can pick any book you like and combine it with the yummy menu options they have to offer. The Artjuna garden cafe is something I definitely would recommend to all the travel and food explorers.
We left artjuna with a happy tummy and a wide smile on our faces. On the way back home we wandered around looking at the amazing architectural houses spread across the way .
Such an amazing trip !
