A spontaneous girl trip to the extreme South of goa: Canacona

It was a normal Sunday, by normal I mean I had finished shooting a breakfast meal and it was about 12:30 am, there I was in front of the PC, editing photos clicked earlier that morning.
And then suddenly I saw my mum all jumpy, she was talking to be in words and bits of sentences, something like “we had to go” “dress up quick”, When I asked the location and reason, she was clueless. So what happened was my cousin and Maushi from Vasco were travelling to the extreme south Goa, i.e Canacona.
There were visiting an ancient temple situated there. So they invited us too to join them too.

I love abstract frames of me, its speaks about a side of me that’s deep and just a few comprehend.

I have never seen mum so spontaneously agreeing to this, that got me all excited too for the trip, I really didn’t have any expectations, I just wanted to get out and do something spontaneous and fun and other than shooting food, for a different perspective.

So in a snap, we were ready to get going, it was 1:00, the oddest timing we have ever agreed to start a trip. Super spontaneous again, no plans.
That’s why I agree when things happen unplanned, your response to such situations is spontaneous too.

We met the Vasco people midway to Canacona.

First stop: An ancient temple that was under construction and renovation

Our first stop was this ancient temple, under construction and renovation. But the deity had been shifted and there itself for people to visit and due to some ancient rituals. We weren’t actually allowed to click any images there since it was a very spiritual place.

We spent some time with the locals who told us some ancient folk stories of the deity. We had not eaten lunch as yet, and we were super hungry, very very hungry.

Did we halt at a nearby highway restaurant, where exactly?

We were in the area that is known as Galgibagh, pretty famous for its beach and turtle nesting sites. We ordered food and me the person who is so kitkiti when it comes to food, almost ate a half quantity of a full bowl of fried rice with mums chicken gravy we were carrying from home.

This was the typical Udpi hotel that appear on the roadside when travelling to the south of Goa and further towards the Karnataka side.

Spend some time there and then next stop the Galibagh beach, I remember this beach mention in my school books, it’s fun when you finally visit it.

How to get to Galigibag Beach
We stay in South Goa, so the beach was almost an hour drive. From Cuncolim, its a straightway until you reach the Talpona bridge. From there the beach is just at a distance of 5 mins. The parking is very tricky as the space accommodations is not that good of a scene. so they tell you to park your vehicle near the bridge where there is ample space to park.

One of the peaceful beaches I’ve visited.

About Galigibag Beach

The beach is pretty small and not much going around, very peaceful, very less crowd as compared to all the crowded beaches I’ve been in Goa. Galigibagh beach was the calmest and it’s just got this peaceful vibe to it. I think we spent about good 2 hours there. It was a good feeling just to get out of the daily routine situation.

Just a good beach day

Hey! I also spot a labrador dog, he just had some happy vibes around him, he was dancing in the water and a very obedient dog for a beach day. I finally met him, he was named Sheru. Sheru instantly caught the dog vibes I had on me.

Meet Sheru, in all hes glory after a swim.

Sometimes all we need is a different perspective to look at the things around you. Spontaneous trips like this really help me a lot to just find peace in a very close to nature way.

The beach also has boat riding trips to the butterfly island and seeing dolphins etc

Until another spontaneous trip to somewhere beautiful.

Stay safe, stay out of trouble.
