5 Fun & Refreshing Tea Mocktail Recipes You Must Try Out!

Nothing beats having a refreshing beverage on a hot sunny day. Best of all, these non-alcoholic tea mocktails can be enjoyed by everyone (& in particular by those who wish to stay away from alcohol-based beverages)

Listed below are 5 of our favourite tea mocktail recipes guaranteed to be a hit all season long!

1. Hibiscus & apple cider black tea  –  An unusual chemis-tea indeed!

Instead of an energy drink, opt for this refreshing blend of hibiscus tea and sweet apple cider.

Ingredients:

  1. Boil 2 cups of water in a small sauce-pan. Turn off the heat and add the hibiscus tea, some lemon zest and stir well. Let it steep for a while. Once it cools down strain this infusion & discard the soaked hibiscus tea. Once again, place the saucepan on medium-high heat, and stir in the sugar. Continue to add the sugar until the mixture turns syrupy. Add about 1 tsp of lemon juice to this mixture. 
  2. In another pan, brew the apple spiced tea, strain & let it cool. 
  3. For setting up the drink: Take some ice cubes in a glass and add about 10 ml of the hibiscus syrup + 10 ml of the brewed apple spiced tea. Voila, your yummylicious mocktail is ready. 

Stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

2. Blue Pea Iced tea –  Give (blue) peas a chance!

Ingredients:

  • Few dry butterfly pea flowers 
  • 1 ltr drinking water 
  • 1 tbsp honey or 2 tbsp brown sugar
  1. Boil the water in a saucepan.
  2. Add the butterpea flowers to the boiling water.
  3. Turn off the gas and allow it to sit for 5 minutes.
  4. Strain the tea concentrate into a jug. 
  5. Add honey or brown sugar to suit your taste.
  6. For the final drink: Take some ice cubes in a glass and add the blue pea tea mixture + lemon, now watch the color change to purple. 

3. Chamomile mint iced tea – Some things are mint to be!

We doubt you’ll find anything more refreshing than a glass of iced chamomile mint tea, sweetened to perfection, on a warm day!  

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 1/2 tsp Chamomile mint tea 
  • 1 tbsp honey or 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • Few slices of lemon
  1. Boil water in a saucepan on medium-high heat. 
  2. Add the dry chamomile mint tea to the boiling water. 
  3. Take it off the heat & let it cool. 
  4. For the final drink, take some ice cubes and lemon slices in a pitcher, pour the tea into it & enjoy!

4. Matcha Mojito Mocktail – The Triple M!

This minty and citrusy green tea drink will be sure to please your taste buds

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp matcha green tea powder
  • 1 cup water 
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • Lime slices
  • Mint leaves
  • Ice
  1. Muddle the lime slices & mint leaves in a serving glass.
  2. Meanwhile, in a separate pan, sift and whisk the matcha green tea powder in hot water. 
  3. Stir in the honey or cane sugar until it dissolves.
  4. Add the matcha mixture to the serving glass along with ice cubes and sprinkle some lime juice into it.
  5. Garnish with lemon slices & mint leaves and enjoy!

5. Lavender Lemonade – Because when life gives you lemons……

Lavender Lemonade

A drink to beat a sweltering hot day! 

Ingredients:

  • A handful of Lavender white tea 
  • Brown/cane Sugar or honey to enhance the taste
  • 2 cups hot water 
  • 1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Ice

Brew the tea in boiling water over medium- high flame. 

Now add sugar or honey until syrupy consistency is achieved. 

Add some lemon zest for a punch. 

Strain the lavender-infused syrup and pour into a serving glass.

Drizzle with lemon juice, add the cold water & ice until desired level of concentration is reached. 

You can even throw in some additional slices of lemon and a few lavender buds to the serving pitcher for aesthetics.
